Professional Services Civil Engineer / Technologist Position in Durbanville

EFG Engineers is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer or Civil Technologist to join our professional services team in Durbanville, Western Cape. This is a full-time role for a senior practitioner to assist with the planning, design, and supervision of civil infrastructure projects across both the private and public sectors.

About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading civil services design and coordination on a range of projects, including residential and commercial developments, as well as municipal bulk and reticulation services. You will be involved from concept through to construction, providing technical leadership and ensuring that all work meets statutory and client requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver conceptual and detailed designs of civil services for land development and municipal projects.
• Prepare technical drawings, design reports, and tender documentation.
• Site supervision, quality control, and project monitoring to ensure design intent and compliance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure all work meets the relevant standards and statutory requirements.

Minimum requirements:

• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr.Eng or Pr. Tech Eng).
• At least 10 years of experience in civil services design across water, sewer, stormwater, and roads.
• Proven proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
• Experience in both design office and site supervision environments.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, and coordinate with clients, authorities, and consultants.
