Transportation Planning

EFG plans and designs highways, arterials, roads, local streets, intersections, railway lines and stations.

Our services range from conceptualisation to execution. This includes urban transport policy at a macro and area level.  We explore sources of funding for the project by facilitating client meetings with potential partners with shared interests. We plan and design transport network infrastructure on the basis of solid engineering expertise, but also with end-user focus. This is supported by local and sub-regional structure plans and public transport operations.

Planning and design of urban/rural arterials

  • Rehabilitation and upgrading of Trunk Road 2/Main Road 168 between the N2 and Main Road 177 (13 km)
  • Design of higher order access roads for the Burgundy Estate Residential Development in Plattekloof (7,5 km)
  • Design of higher order access roads for the Buhrein Estate Residential Development in Kraaifontein (4,4 km)
  • Design of external road improvements for 3 residential developments in Blue Downs
  • Reseal of TR27/1 Kleinmond to Rooi Els
  • Rehabilitation of TR28/2 Hermanus to Gansbaai
  • Hermanus Bypass in joint venture with ICE

Development planning features strongly in our work as many of our projects unlock economic potential and mobility for business and customers. We work with motorised and non-motorised transport and different transport modes providing user-friendly pedestrian and cyclist facilities.  Our transportation modeling (EMME/4) provides up-front information on the planned outcomes of the project. Our work includes road rehabilitation, road reseals and road surfacing.
