Eric Foster is a Civil Engineer with 37 years’ experience specialising in Transportation & Traffic Engineering and Project Management. He holds a Hons B Eng. (Civil) and M Eng. (Transportation) from the University of Stellenbosch.
He started his career 1980 with the former Transvaal Provincial Administration. He became Assistant Town Engineer for the Klerksdorp municipality. He then joined the Cape Provincial Administration Roads Department and subsequently Jeffares & Green Inc. where, between 1991 and 2000 he moved from Associate to Executive Associate to Director.
He formed Eric Foster & Genote / Associates in 2000. The firm became EFG Engineers (Pty) Ltd in 2005 with him as one of the three founding members.Close
David Faure is a Civil Engineer with 27 years’ experience specialising in Transportation & Traffic Engineering, Road & Rail Planning, Geometric Design and Environmental Science.
He holds a BSc Civil Engineering and MSc Environmental Science from the University of Cape Town.
He started his career in 1990 as Engineer in Transportation & Urban Roads at VKE Consulting Engineers, Cape Town and was promoted to Senior Engineer in 1996. He became an Associate at Jeffares & Green Inc., Cape Town. He started David Faure Consulting Engineers in 2001 and ran the practice until 2005 when Eric Foster & Genote, David Faure Consulting Engineers and James Marais Siviele Ontwerp joined forces and started EFG Engineers Pty (Ltd).Close
James Marais is a Professional Technologist with 37 years’ experience who specialises in Municipal Services, Geometric Design and Contract Management. He holds a National Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering.
He started his career in 1980 at the Harbour Engineer in Cape Town and later joined the City Engineer’s Department in Welkom. Then, after a fifteen-year stint with Jeffares & Green Inc., Cape Town, he set up his own consulting practice, James Marais Siviele Ontwerp.

Theo la Grange is a Civil Engineer with 38 years of experience specialising in Road Design, Pavement Design, Pavement Management, Construction Project Management and Site Supervision. He holds a Hons B Eng. in Civil Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, a B Eng. Hons in Pavement Materials as well as a Project Management Certificate from the University of Pretoria.
He joined the South African Railways and Harbours in Johannesburg after graduating. Between 1982 and 1988 he was Resident Engineer for Scott & De Waal (later Stewart Scott) on different projects, before moving to their Cape Town office. As Senior Engineer he oversaw several projects and became Associate, office manager and Head of Transport.
After starting an engineering business he re-joined Scott Stewart and later Jeffares & Green, East London as Resident Engineer. He joined EFG Engineers Pty (Ltd) in 2007.Close
Aloysius Horniman is a Professional Technologist with 19 years’ experience and specializes in roads and infrastructure design, as well as traffic and transportation.
He holds a BTech in Urban Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He has been involved in the design and management of a range of projects in the abovementioned fields.
He received his in-service training with the City of Cape Town : Bellville, after which he joined their Traffic and Transportation section as a Technician.
He moved to Jeffares & Green (Pty) Ltd in 1997 where he worked as a Technician in their Roads Section.
In 2004 he joined GIBB Consulting Engineers where he worked in their Transportation and Civil Departments.
He joined the EFG Engineers team in 2007 and became a director in 2016.Close
Gideon Hahn is a Professional Technologist, specialising in Geometric Design, Municipal Services, Field / Construction Survey and Civil Designer software. He holds a B Tech in Civil Engineering and a National Survey Diploma.
He started his career as surveyor at the Cape Provincial Administration’s Transport and Traffic Department. He was promoted to Senior Surveyor at the Eastern Cape Provincial Government before joining Moutons Transport and Civils. In 1999 he moved to the Western Cape Government’s, Road Infrastructure Branch, Geometric Design Section where he became Acting Master Technician.
He joined EFG Engineers in 2006 and is involved in the design of urban developments as well as Provincial and rural roads. He became an associate in 2013.
Werner van Rooyen is a Professional Technologist with 9 years’ experience who specialises in Municipal Services, Geometric Design, Infrastructure Design, Site Supervision and Contract Management.
He holds a BTech degree in Urban Engineering and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He has experience in both design and contract supervision of civil engineering projects and traffic engineering assignments.
He joined EFG Engineers Pty (Ltd) in 2008 and became an Associate in 2017.Close
